It was another successful sales day on Monday at the Cowra Regional Livestock Selling Centre. Coomera wearing buyers bounced from one area of the yard to another as the sales were completed with their usual lightning speed. Around 400 good quality cattle were sold at the yards, with bulls leading the pack due to a rise in exports of grinding beef to America (those USA folk do love a good burger!) Bulls sold up to 214 cents a kilo with one bull making $2483. Cows were sold to 175 cents a kilo. Heifers were up to 202 cents a kilo and steers were up to 206 a kilo. The Selling Centre specialises in prime cattle sales every Monday from 12.30pm and prime lamb and sheep sales on Friday’s at 11am, with the majority of the livestock sourced from the Belubula and Lachlan Valleys. The Centre is linked to 7 livestock selling agent companies operating out of Cowra,3 of which are JJ Dresser & Co, Landmark and Allan Gray & Co.
Landmark is located close to the Livestock Selling Centre on the Young Road. Though the company has extended to branches all over Australia, those branches still like to support local events.
JJ Dresser & Co moved from Mandurama to Woodstock in 1947 where they remain to this day. Since those early years, the company has traded and continued to expand. Staff members bring individual attributes and skills to the company, developing the strong and trusted agency you do business with today business with today.
Allan Gray & Co are a Livestock and Property Agents supplier that have been breeding lambs for over 60 years. Established in 1924, they provide the full range of services including sheep and livestock agents over an extended service area.
