In an exciting move for balloon buffs, Destination NSW has pledged marketing funding to Canowindra Challenge for the next 3 years. This year’s team includes Lisa Cameron from Tilma Group, who has come on board as event manager for Canowindra Challenge. Lisa will be calling for stall holders for the night market at the Balloon Glow, as well as performers, during the upcoming weeks. Jan Kerr said; “The programme for the festival is starting to come
together, with Barefoot Bowls, a sausage sizzle, a monster raffle and an entertainer from the Central Coast at the Bowling Club on Friday 8th and an Arts and Crafts Fair at the Services Club on Sunday 10th.”
In an effort to recover from the financial and weather related problems of 2015, along with low spectator numbers, this year’s festival will be over a shorter time period and balloon competitions will be on a daily basis. The highlights of 2016 will be the Key Grab on Monday 10th, where pilots
will put their flying skills to the test and compete to grab a ‘key’ from the top of a flagpole to win a major prize, and of course the Cabonne Country Balloon Glow on the 9th April which promises to be huge. If you are interested in being a stall holder at the Balloon Glow night market or you would like to perform please contact Lisa at lisa@canowindrachallenge.org.au
