Last Saturday, 14th September, residents across the state headed to the polls for the 2024 NSW Local Government elections.
Acting NSW Electoral Commissioner Dr Matthew Phillips said counting began as soon as polling places closed, with results progressively published on the NSW Electoral Commission’s website.
At the time of printing the current results for Cabonne Council were: Kevin Beatty 25.70%, Jamie Jones 10.86%, Marlene Nash 10.07%, Aaron Pearson 9.32%, Peter Batten 8.64%, Andrew Pull 8.34%, Andrew Rawson 8.21%, Kathryn O’Ryan 7.93%, Jennifer Weaver 6.23% and Guin Dickie 4.70%.
The count cannot be concluded until all postal votes have been returned to the Electoral Commissioner. The deadline for return of completed postal votes is 6pm on Friday, 27th September 2024.
When all the votes have been counted, the official announcement of the elections result will be declared in writing. Results will be declared between 1st and 3rd October.
The declaration will be displayed at the office of the relevant council and the final election result will be available at elections.nsw.gov.au.
Election statistics, including pre-poll figures and postal votes applied for and returned are also available on the website.
