Channel 7’s Sunrise was in town on Wednesday to film footage of Canowindra’s own City2Surf team, and to tell Australia about the incredible cause the team supports; Raising a Roof for the Read Triplets. The team together with family and friends made their way down the main street for film crews and then congregated at Finns Store for breakfast.
The group is made up of 57 people who are\ entering into the City2Surf race, either from Canowindra or who are friends and families of the team members or the Read Family, aiming to help them build a “miracle house” to meet ongoing needs. Anne Ward, an organiser of Raising a Roof for the Read Triplets said they had raised an incredible $24,000 with more pledges still
scheduled to come in and work on the building will start soon.
“We’d like to give a special thanks to IGA and Gaskill Greens for providing breakfast, and for all those who got up early and braved the cold so we could have a team walking down Gaskill Street,” Marg Wallington said.
“After the City2Surf is over, everyone is invited to join us at the Waverley Bowling Club to celebrate this great fundraiser,” Anne said. There are still four days left before the event so if you want to get behind Canowindra’s own City2Surf team and support the fantastic cause of building a “miracle house”
for the Read Triplets, make your donations today. Visit www.raisingaroof4readtriplets.blogspot.com.au The footage will be aired on Sunrise on Sunday morning.
