The cricket world was left reeling last Thursday when a tragic freak accident led to the passing of Phillip Hughes. Hughes was injured by a bouncer during a Sheffield Shield match earlier in the week. Social media was filled with tributes and photos of bats placed outside workplaces, sports ground and homes with the hashtags #putoutyourbats and #63notout in respect to the cricketer. In Cowra over the weekend local cricket players shared a minute’s silence and wore black armbands in respect of Phillip Hughes’ passing at the Twigg Oval.
