
Canowindra Public School held its athletics carnival at Tom Clyburn Oval last week.
Canowindra Public School (CPS) primary students were lucky enough to see a performance of Just Romeo and Juliet by the Bell Shakespeare Company. The play was adapted from children’s author Andy Griffiths’s book and was filled with Shakespeare’s classic text and characters.
CPS Students have been participating in gymnastic lessons with Central West Gymnastics. The students have thoroughly enjoyed the activities and have been learning some great skills.
The Life Education Van visited the school at the beginning of June. Each class participated in a lesson which encourages students to make safer and healthier choices, as well as teaching how to build positive, safe and respectful relationships in person and online.
Well done to our dance troupe which performed in Bathurst at the Western Region Dance Festival! The girls travelled with the Canowindra High School dance group and had a wonderful time reconnecting with older peers. They performed beautifully at the matinee and evening performances.
Many of our primary students participated in the rugby league gala day held in Canowindra last week and girls touch football which was in Cowra. Our students are to be commended for the wonderful spirit and sportsmanship they display.
Year five students visited Canberra last Thursday and Friday. The students had a wonderful trip and visited Parliament House, Australian Institute of Sport, National Museum of Australia, Royal Australian Mint and the Australian War Memorial.
Our school athletics carnival was held at the oval last Wednesday. Fortunately, the weather held out and the students participated in running and field events. Students who placed in the top three now advance through to district level which will be held next term.
