Canowindra Pre School are thrilled to announce that they have received a grant for $246,090 for an extension to their service.
“What a great outcome for the Pre School & the community of Canowindra. It’s an amazing start to begin my term as president.” Nadine Daly said.
The Capital Grants program is an $8 million funding initiative from the NSW government. Grants fund the construction of new preschools or the expansion of existing ones. The grant is designed to help create 500 additional places for children aged four or five in areas of high need around the state.
Previous President Mandy Towsend said, “This is something we have been working on for nearly two years now to expand the service to incorporate more age groups.”
An extension is planned to create a com- munity mulit-purpose room, which will also cater for administration needs. This will allow for larger classrooms and numbers.
Director Liz Francis said, “We would like to thank the community of Canowindra for their ongoing support towards the pre school as without your support from fundraising throughout the year this grant wouldn’t have been possible.”
The pre school have been hard at work fundraising over the past year with the money raised from events all helping in the grant application to show that the community and pre school would contribute and support this expansion.
This is a wonderful result for the Canowindra Pre School and will contribute greatly to the community of Canowindra.
