A “Children’s Rose” from Eureka Plants, who have their next sale on 26 October.
Local nursery Eureka Plants will host their next rose sale on Saturday October 26 at their property near Nyrang Creek.
Eureka Plants host multiple rose sales every year, however this one will be extra special, running in conjunction with the Canowindra High School P&C Open Garden fundraiser.
The event will run between 10am and 2pm on the day, and will feature many different species of roses, as well as many other plants that are grown at the farm.
There will also be a special presentation on roses at 10.30am on the day. The talk will cover rose maintenance and care.
Eureka Plants owner Beth Gordon said it was great to be able to run their rose sale on the same weekend as the Canowindra High School P&C event.
“We had our rose sale around the same time as the High School event a couple of years ago but didn’t realise, so we thought
this year we’d look at joining in with them,” she said.
“Our rose sale is separate to their open gardens, however we invite people who are a part of their event to come out and see us and learn all about the roses we grow and sell.”
Eureka Plants were also involved with the Canowindra Garden Club’s open day at Noojee Lea Homestead last weekend.
Eureka Plants has been lucky enough to survive the ongoing drought, being located near a river and having access to bore water, and Mrs Gordon said that meant all flowers at their sale would still be of the best quality.
She said that roses in particular are one the of the best drought-resistant species of flower, and can survive without rain once rooted into the ground and grown.
As well as roses, lavenders and perennials will also be available at the sale.
