It’s time to speak up with your contribution to the future vision for the area, in the latest Cabonne Council Community Strategic Plan (CSP).
It’ll consider the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges that will mould our values as a town and a shire.
The final plan will set the direction for Cabonne by helping to determine what is most important to the community, as well as assist local and state governments to understand spending priorities.
Canowindra Business Chamber and Progress Association (CBCPA) Chair Antonio D’Onise believes taking part in the consultation will assist business owners and community groups.
“The community will benefit from the CSP as a plan will be developed for Council to use for the improvement of the town. The plans are used to apply for future funding, without them funding will not be granted. So to be in the race for funding we need to go through this process,” he said.
Raising your hand to speak of both the positives and negatives is the best way to find a solution.
“Rarely do all boxes get ticked, but if we can get a few ticked then that’s a bonus,” Mr D’Onise said.
“It is important to be constructive when discussing things with Council as I have learnt that there’s more to be gained when in constructive dialogue than when it’s destructive. The Council management has been great to work with, in my experience and want to make a difference to all villages in Cabonne.”
Council is hosting a virtual discussion forum strictly for Canowindra residents on October 13. Register for this information session on the council’s website via its menu.
The plan sits in a suite of documents, known as Integrated Planning and Reporting, and guides Council on what should be delivered in order to achieve the CSP outcomes.
