PJL, a local mining services business in Orange raised over $9,000 on Friday when they hosted a bbq, conducted raffles and auctioned off some items which were generously donated by local businesses.
Ben Hockey, Orange Operations Manager said, ”the project was started 8 weeks ago and our clients CSA Mine Glencore, at Cobar decided to support this worthy cause by painting the loader pink, in support of breast cancer and particularly the employment of local breast care nurses.” Ben said, “There was over 15,000 parts used in this refit, and some 4,000 man hours.”
Breast Care nurses are located in Parkes, Dubbo, Mudgee, Bathurst and Orange. Susan Kuter is based in Orange and looks after those ladies requiring assistance in Cabonne and Orange areas, as well as anybody visiting the hospital for treatment in Orange. They are funded by the McGrath Foundation so it is essential to continually fundraise to keep this service available.
