Commencing Monday 11th May, Canowindra Public School (CPS) moved into Phase 1 of the Departments return to school policy in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In this phase, students of non-essential workers are able to attend school one day per week while continuing to learn from home on the other days, however Canowindra Public School are encouraging students to return two days in week 4 and full time by week 5. Students of essential workers are able to continue coming to school 5 days a week.
Teachers have been working hard to provide learning packs for all students, as well as using online platforms to teach the students. Laptops have been provided to all families who required them so all students are provided the same learning opportunities during this time.
As the town’s ANZAC service was cancelled this year, school captains and prefects were asked to contribute to a different kind of service. Each leader was given a part to read from their home and Mrs Matic made a presentation from it. This will be shown to the students when they return to school and will be put on the school website.

It has been a challenging time for teachers, students and parents but the staff at CPS have appreciated parents support efforts and are looking forward to having the students return to school.
