Friends, supporters, and members of the local business community attended the official opening of Peacockes Solicitors in Canowindra on Friday the 6th May. Local business man and solicitor, Geoff Yeo, was warmly welcomed by the partners of Peacockes Solicitors in Dubbo. Andrew Graham, Tiffany Hart and Tim Cullenward extended their welcome and good wishes to Geoff and wife, Jackie, with Andrew assuring the community that he has total confidence in Geoff.
Geoff, who owns and operates Finn’s Store with his wife Jackie, remarked that until now, Canowindra has had no resident solicitor for approximately five years. His aspiration for Peacockes Solicitors Canowindra is to “be a viable legal presence in Canowindra and to work full-time, and eventually grow the business.” This is good news for local residents, who will now have access to the years of experience and expertise that Peacockes offer, right at their doorstep.
Among the well-wishers were Mayor Ian Gosper and local counsellor Kevin Walker. Both men are encouraged by the opening of Peacockes Solicitors Canowindra, with Mayor Gosper remarking; “This is not only another new business for Cabonne, but it will save people having to travel. We try and attract people to our area and it’s great to see the Yeo’s doing this.”
Caddie Marshall, the President of Canowindra Business Chamber performed the official opening, telling the crowd, “We need a good, solid, well considered, legal advisor in town, someone who knows our needs and can take that into consideration when offering advice. We need access to a wonderful man who’s well-considered and acts with integrity to represent us.”
The opening night was a success, with a champagne toast and delicious nibbles. Finn’s Store was well attended with guests being encouraged to inspect Geoff’s new office. In good humoured style he teased, “Have a look at my office now, as from now on you’ll be charged!”
