Our publisher for the past four years Cheryl Newsom has been named a finalist in the Western NSW Business Chamber Awards for 2017 in the category Business Leader.
The Western NSW Business Awards celebrate and recognise business excellence in the Western NSW area.
“I am delighted to have been nominated for this category and to be a finalist. It is recognition of what myself and the team at the Phoenix have been able to achieve over the past four years,” Cheryl Newsom said.
Cheryl will be judged on a number of aspects by judges from the area of expertise relating to the award category.
Cheryl believes, “To be successful as a business leader, one has to have a number of qualities, including, a clear direction and focus on the future of your business, how to achieve your business objectives and being able to manage a good team of people and ensure that they also achieve their goals and objectives. Also, you need to be at the forefront of the industry category that you are in and make a point of difference”.
It is a great achievement to be nominated for such a prestigious award and Cheryl says this is what makes being a business leader so great.
“Being able to make decisions which make a difference, not only to your business, but to your staff and your clients. Ensuring that you enjoy the respect of your peers, as well as your staff,” Cheryl said.
Winners of each category will be announced on Friday the 5th May at Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo.
