Our Gal – Isabelle Banks

2 August, 2023 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Isabelle Banks

How are you involved with the Canowindra Phoenix? For about three weeks. I have assisted with writing articles, which means I have had the opportunity to speak with many Canowindra locals.

What do you love about your job? I love talking to new people and learning new things. It means that my days are always different and ever changing.

As a member of the editorial team, what other Phoenix Papers do you work with? I started with the Hilltops and since I loved it so much, I have taken on Cowra and Canowindra.

What’s the best part of your day? Coming home to my two little boys, my husband and all of our pets. Every afternoon we all spend time together which is very special to me.

City or Regional? As somebody who has lived in both, I’d have to say definitely regional.

Where have you travelled to? Straight out of high school, I travelled around Australia working in shearing sheds, which allowed me to do the “big Australian lap.” I have also been to Fiji and Hong Kong.

What is on your bucket list? I would really love to go to Turkey for Anzac Day.

What does community mean to you? Community is so important to me, it means having somebody there who will be happy to have a yarn with you or help you out. It takes a village to survive and to be happy and healthy.
