Deb Rutter
How long have you lived in or around Canowindra? All my life, we’re a 4th generation family.
Where do you work? I work as a volunteer across a number of organisations including
St Vincent de Paul, Canowindra Show Society, Ladies Auxiliary, Canowindra Creative Centre, Catholic Church, Moorbel Hall Committee, SES, Canowindra Historical Society, Christmas Day Lunch Committee and Canowindra Primary School. Wow! You’re a busy lady!
What do you love most about volunteering? I love the community and the people. Canowindra is unique in terms of the support and care which is offered to the community by volunteers.
How do you start your day? Try to wake up, have breakfast, feed the animals and look at my diary.
What do you do in your spare time? I love to write, look after my family and friends. I’ve written a few Christian books and children’s stories. My son and my faith are important to me.
What makes your day? I thrive on helping people, when I see a need I try to do something about it.
