Central Motors Canowindra has been owned by the Davis family since 1955 and has always been a garage. The late Bill and Jean Davis bought Central Motors from McKay and Keets and took on the NRMA in 1964. The building before Bill and Jean bought it was the Farmers and Graziers Co-op that sold fuel. Completely unrecognisable now, the fuel pumps use to be out the front of CM on the footpath. Bill Davis worked in the garage and was on Road Patrol until 1998 when he became ill and passed away in 1999. Vicki Davis has worked and helped manage CM since 1998, with Ray and Colin Davis. Central Motors/NRMA offers all insurance including life insurance, car repairs, servicing and rego checks. There are currently 2 employees, Trish and Dan Friend and 2 managers Vicki (NRMA) and Tony Trelford (Garage). When asked what Vicki loves most about working at the NRMA she said “The interaction with the public, and being able to help people”. Vicki and Ray recently received recognition for 40 years community service for the NRMA– well done!
