Our Bloke – Owen McLaughlan (Mac)

17 October, 2019 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Owen McLaughlan

How long have you lived in or around Canowindra and what do you like about living here? I arrived from Wagga Ag College in 1979 and have never left. So 40 years.

Where do you work and what do you enjoy most about your work? I worked at Canowindra High as an Ag teacher for 37 years but now I currently work for Charles Sturt University as a Liaison Officer. I really enjoy travelling around the South West area meeting and observing our next generation of new teachers.

What do you do to unwind after work or on weekends? Work on my hobby farm, gardening, motorbike riding with Donna and visiting our grandkids.

What are you really good at? Dancing and being a practical joker.

What is your pet hate? Gossip

If you could have a super power what would it be and why? Reading minds to see what people really think.

Tell us about your best holiday ever? Travelling with my wife Donna through Eu- rope and the Netherlands for 3 months

What makes your day? Waking up! Having a cuppa with my wife and face timing with my grandkids.

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself? I enjoy playing the Guitar, Piano and Drums (not all at the same time).
