How long have you lived in or around Canowindra and what do you like about living here? I have lived in the Canowindra area for the last five years. I moved to the region from Canberra to settle down with my wife and take up work with The Phoenix Group of Newspapers.
Where do you work and what do you enjoy most about your work? I am the owner of The Phoenix Group of Newspapers and am spending the next two weeks relieving as Editor of The Canowindra Phoenix. Being the owner of a community newspaper group is wonderful, as it gives you a great sense of true community spirit.
What do you do to unwind after work or on weekends? I am a huge sports fan, so during the cooler months I spend much of my time watching the NRL and AFL, and in the warmer months, cricket. I am a Canberra Raiders and Richmond Tigers tragic.
What are you really good at? Not too much to be honest. I was always very capable athletically and musically growing up, but have had mostly office jobs since graduating from university, which has put a dent in that!
What is your pet hate? My pet hate is when people say “seen” rather than “saw”.
If you could have a super power what would it be and why? I would love to be able to fly. I would take myself for a joy flight every day and check out the stunning sight of the canola crops at the moment.
Tell us about your best holiday ever? I have been lucky enough to have many amazing holidays all around the world, including Europe and North America, but I’d have to say my honeymoon to New Zealand and Tahiti was the best.
What makes your day? I love waking up and seeing the sun shining. It definitely sets a positive mood for the day ahead.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself? I went to the same high school as Australian singer and dancer Tim O’Matic.
