Our Bloke – Brendon Mulloy

22 November, 2023 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Brendon Mulloy

How are you involved with Canowindra Balloon Challenge? I am the Display Director for the balloon festival.

How long have you been involved with ballooning? Ten years or so.

What is the thing you love most about being a balloon pilot? You can’t just open the throttle and fly around for another go at landing in the same spot. Every flight is an adventure!

How many years have you been coming to Canowindra for the Canowindra Balloon Challenge? 10 years.

Where is your home base? I live in the ACT.

What is your favourite place to fly from? The Parliamentary Triangle in Canberra is definitely a favourite!

What has been your greatest accomplishment with ballooning? Being one of the first balloons to fly out of Thredbo.

What are you most looking forward for the 2024 Canowindra Balloon Challenge? Catching up with everyone in a relaxed environment.

How did you get involved with ballooning? It’s all Steve Campbell’s fault, when he rocked up to Siding Springs Observatory and asked for permission to fly…

What balloon do you pilot? Lance and The Lettuce. Lance is no stranger to Canowindra, but The Lettuce hasn’t been out much of late.
