Our Bloke – Brendan Mansbridge

2 December, 2021 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

How long have you lived in or around Canowindra and what do you like about living here? I have lived in the area for the past 8 years. I enjoy the closeness and community spirit of a rural community such as Canowindra.

How are you involved with the community? I am president of the Central Western NSW region of the Australian Poll Dorset Association. I’m also involved in a number of local shows as a committee member, steward, exhibitor and judge.

Where do you work and what do you enjoy most about your work? I work for Kevin Miller Whitty Lennon & Co (KMWL) based here in Canowindra. I specialise in clearing sales and machinery sales, AuctionsPlus sales and stud stock, and the best part of the job is the satisfaction of achieving a great result for your clients.

What do you do to unwind on weekends? I spend time working on my Poll Dorset sheep stud and also working on my fiancé’s family farm. I don’t get a lot of time to unwind!

What are you really good at? Working with sheep and livestock.

What’s your pet hate? People who complain about something but make no effort to improve or change the situation.

What’s on your bucket list? To continue to improve my Poll Dorset stud and leave a legacy in the industry.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why? To control the weather! It would make all the difference for farmers.

Tell us about your best holiday ever… A road trip last year along the entire NSW south coast to the Victorian border. Some breathtaking scenery and it was great to support local business after the bushfires.

What makes your day? Satisfied clients, and coming home to the farm seeing sheep grazing and spending time with my fiancé and family.
