Our Bloke – Andrew Whatman

4 March, 2021 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

How long have you lived in or around Canowindra and what do you like about living here? 17 years. I like the people and the fact that it is laid-back and nice and quiet.

Where do you work and what do you enjoy most about your work? I am a farmer, I make Lucerne hay. I love being out in the fresh air all the time. Working with my son is a good thing too.

What do you do to unwind after work or on weekends? A nice cold beer with footy in the winter and a bit of cricket in the summer.

What are you really good at? As Andrew struggled for words, Kevin Walker interject-ed saying, “You are a good organiser and you are passionate about rugby league and Canowindra.” Andrew responded, “thank you, I love my footy.”

What is your pet hate? Mice at the moment!

What is on your bucket list? Win the grand final this year with Canowindra Tigers Rugby League Club.

If you could have a super power what would it be and why? To give everyone good health.

Tell us about your best holiday ever? Going down to Moruya with the whole family. That is as good as it gets with a family.

What makes your day? To see the sun come up.

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself? I last played for the Canowindra Tigers when I was 36.
