Monday 1st June will see many businesses in Canowindra and surrounding districts re-open now that restrictions have eased since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
As of next week, with a date still to be confirmed the Canowindra Services Club in Gaskill St will open its doors. Please keep an eye on the Club’s Facebook page for opening times.
“From next week the Club will re-open offering full facilities and of course the tap beer will be flowing,” said Club Administrative Manager Julie Fliedner.
While the Club has been closed the carpets have been cleaned and a deep sanitisation clean has taken place throughout the premises.
You will also notice the new vertical garden in the market night area and around the top of the bar.
The Club will have hand sanitising stations for patrons to utilise and cleaning will be taking place hourly throughout the Club to maintain a high level of hygiene.
Last week the NSW Government announced the easing of restrictions meaning 50 people are allowed to be seated in restaurants, cafes, pubs and clubs from 1st June 2020.
“Cafés, restaurants, pubs and clubs across NSW will be delighted by this announcement which has been timed to coincide with the resumption of regional travel and tourism on 1st June,” said Vicki Seccombe, Regional Manager – Western NSW, Business NSW.
“Whilst there are still restrictions in place regarding floor space, having up to fifty people per venue, even with social distancing, is a much more sustainable option, allowing many more businesses across Western NSW to open,” continued Ms Seccombe.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the move was about safely bringing back thousands of jobs to NSW and in particular the hospitality industry.
“This decision has been made with expert health advice and patrons will be subject to strict rules and guidelines,” Ms Berejiklian said.
