A jam-packed festival program full of feasts, fiestas, wine-tastings, food-inspired art exhibitions, paddock pop-ups, polo matches, movies and family food fun makes this year’s Orange F.O.O.D Week running from Friday 8 to Sunday 17 April an unmissable event.
While signature events such as FORAGE, F.O.O.D Train and the 100-Mile Dinner in Molong are already sold out, there are still over 90 additional events in the program to attend hosted by local restaurants, cafes, caterers and cellar doors. Hunt for your lunch in a Truffiere at Borrodell Vineyard; wine and dine to music at a long table in an orchard at the ‘Long Orchard Feast’ at The Farm Gate orchard; take a holistic vineyard tour at Cargo Road Wines; go foraging for your food on the ‘The Foraged Brunch’ farm tour; and get into the swing of things at a cider festival at Small Acres.
F.O.O.D HQ runs daily from 11 to 12.30pm throughout the festival (except Saturdays), held in a marquee in the grounds of The Agrestic Grocer, it’s an opportunity to meet up with festival volunteers and fellow festival goers. F.O.O.D HQ will also feature a series of free presentations and live cooking demonstrations by local producers, craft beer brewers, bee keepers, and chocolatiers.
Additional highlights of Orange F.O.O.D Week include the farmers markets in Orange (9 April) and Blayney (17 April); the Borenore Public School Country Fair on Sunday 10 April ; as well as a two day polo match at the Millamolong Polo Club on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 April.
