Official Opening of the Swimming Pool – Thank You from Jarrod and Lisa

12 March, 2014 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

To the Editor,

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who volunteered their time at the Canowindra Swimming Pool official opening and efforts for the day.

To Suze Clarke, Anna Stanley, Michelle Stacey, Sue Johnson, Liz Mitchell, Liz Grant and members of the CWA for their amazing selection of baked goods for morning tea.

Andrew Holmes and the Pony Club for lending their marquees to provide the much needed shade on the day.

Debbie Guihot and Robyn Wilkinson for providing the ribbon cutting shears and taking plenty of memorable photographs during the morning. Sally Wallace for helping locate past members of Swimming Club and previous managers.

Kim Roberts for the absolutely stunning cake she donated for the opening.

Finlay Rowston, Samantha Flannery, Joshua Flannery and Dawn Flannery for cooking and running the free BBQ and tidying up afterwards. Graham Rice for being MC on the day.

Charlie McCarron, Mayor Ian Gosper and Michael Hoy of Beaucorp for their informative and heartfelt speeches and cutting of the ribbon. Dale Sherwin and Pauline Carroll for cutting the cake and Pauline’s impromptu speech.

Joe and Ethan Cartwright, Bianca Amos and Sally Fitzgerald for manning the kiosk, helping tidy up, supplying the many tables we needed and kid wrangling our children so we were free to do things that needed doing.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Lynne Russell, Stephen Russell, Stewart Russell, Ash Wright, Will Wright, Claire Wright and Julia Wright for helping to set up, organise, plan, clearing up after was and helping the day run smoothly. Without their help it would not have been the fantastic day that it was.

Many thanks to everyone who came to share photos, stories and celebrate this memorable occasion.

Sincerely,

Jarrod Strange & Lisa Cartwright
