District farmers will have the chance to meet with the President of NSW Farmers, James Jackson, when he visits Canowindra after Easter.
Maree McKay, Chair of the Canowindra Branch of NSW Farmers, said that local farmers are pleased to welcome Mr Jackson to the region.
“James will attend the Canowindra Branch meeting to update members on association activities and priorities and the successes and challenges in representing the views of the members of the association to government and industry,” said Mrs McKay.
“Farmers will also have the chance to talk with James, discuss the issues that are top of mind at present, and put forward their views as to the future direction of the association,” said Mrs McKay.
“At the meeting, members will be invited to take advantage of the chance to help influence the policies of the association by formulating motions to go to the Annual Conference,” said Mrs McKay.
“With the current high prices of fuel and fertiliser, shortages of chemicals and seed, problems sourcing spare parts and labour shortages, among many other issues, I’m sure there will be much to consider at the meeting,” continued Mrs McKay.
“I’d encourage all members to come along to the meeting. Guests are also welcome,” said Mrs McKay.
James Jackson will attend the general meeting of the Canowindra Branch of NSW Farmers at the Canowindra Services Club at 6.30 pm on Friday April 22nd.
