News from Canowindra High School … Year 7 Camp

3 June, 2014 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Last week I had the pleasure of taking Year 7 camping at Mr Scott’s farm. We had a wonderful time and will treasure the memories for years to come. I would like to thank Mr Scott for his hospitality and generosity in allowing us to camp on his farm and use the facilities there. Mr Scott took the students to the go-kart track where even the most reluctant of students enjoyed the experience.

Mrs Evans and Mrs Kinsela organised the orienteering sessions in which students had to complete a number of tasks to determine the winner. I was lucky enough to supervise the yabbying, sitting at the dam in the sunshine waiting for a bite. Many yabbies were caught and eaten for dinner. Of course no camp would be complete without the presence of Chris Cuddy and his crazy games. We were also entertained sitting by the campfire by our talented students who revealed their beautiful singing voices and comedic abilities.
