You may have noticed a few changes happening at the Canowindra Hotel lately. On 1st March 2018 some 20 years after Coral and Garry Britt where last pouring beers and sharing stories with locals, their family have bought the lease back from Tony Warn and are looking forward to restoring the hotel back to its former glory.
The hotel will be a family run affair. Day to day you will see Paul and Nikki Brouwers (Nikki is Coral’s daughter) co-ordinating the various local trades to complete the renovations as quickly as possible with Zac Bondoroff (Coral’s future grandson in law) overseeing and serving cold beer and quality food as the Hotel Manager.
The vision of the Canowindra Hotel is to create a family pub where everyone in the community feels welcome to come and enjoy a drink and quality meals. The restaurant is open 7 days a week for both lunch and dinner and new menu items will be added in the coming months. Hotel manager Zac who is a trained Chef will be in charge of the new look menu. The restaurant will be focussing on using all the great produce from within 100 miles of the pub as Zac is very keen on the “Paddock to Plate” theory.
The Canowindra Hotel are really committed to the Canowindra community and enjoy supporting the Lions Club and various sporting teams around town.
The refurbishment of the pub is a mammoth task and to date has included the removal of the carpet in the public bar area to reveal some amazing mosaic tiles. The carpet has also been removed in the lounge area bar with gorgeous old floor boards now being exposed. The painting of the hotel is about to start with the local Dawes brothers in charge.
There is new furniture in the bar and the beer garden has undergone a makeover with smart new outdoor furniture. Call in today for a cold one and check out all the new changes at The Canowindra Hotel!
