The Cabonne Council Home and Community Care (HACC) service is excited to reveal it now has a new name, Cabonne Home Support (CHS).
The Cabonne Council managed service has been operating since the mid 1990s, and although the funding structures have changed over the years the organisation still offers the same services across the Cabonne area.
“The name change has happened to modernise the service and bring it into line with the Commonwealth Home Support Program, and the future direction of Australian Government funded aged care services,” said Ms Coady-Ella Watson, Cabonne Home Support Co-Ordinator.
The service has an amazing 76 volunteers across Cabonne who do a terrific job of providing support services for people aged 65 years and over who need help to remain living independently at home.
Cabonne Home Support continue to provide the following services throughout the shire:
• A hot meal delivery service (in Canowindra and Eugowra), as well as a frozen meal delivery service.
• Individual Social Support and Community Visitors to provide companionship.
• Social support group activities.
• A Home Maintenance program, where local contractors are utilised to provide subsidised support to maintain the safety of the person’s yard.
“If there are any local contractors looking for work, we always need these for the Home Maintenance Program. We are also always on the lookout for people interested in volunteering, especially for our Social Support and Community Visitors services,” said Ms Watson.
