Canowindra Public School received a facelift on Tuesday when Cowra Turf kindly donated turf to landscape a new garden area where the once iconic bottle tree was. After 61 years the famous Bottle Tree was removed last school holidays as it was rapidly deteriorating and became a hazard for the children.
Thanks to the Canowindra Public School P&C the new garden area looks great with new turf and three lovely Ornamental Pear Trees.
“The plan moving forward is for a new Bottle Tree to be planted on Level 3 of the playground where it can grow undisturbed by buildings.” said Principal Sharon Hawker.
The Public School has a busy two weeks left at school including Year 6 heading to Lake Burrendong for camp, the infants incursion where the Cowra PCYC will set up a gymnastics day at school, class parties, final school assembly and presentation day where the new school captains for 2019 will be announced.
