This year’s Fire Festival (2-11 August), in the Orange region looks a little different. There is plenty of familiar fun to be had but it is the additional, newly created events appearing on the Program that are creating anticipation and competition for tickets at this year’s festival.
The favourites remain and the festival opens on Friday 2nd August with the ever-popular Millthorpe Fire Fair, street party. Millthorpe Fire Fair celebrates winter fun along Millthorpe’s pictureperfect Pym St, lined with fire pits, street entertainment, local food producers, wineries, brewers and Millthorpe’s local businesses.
Good vibes are guaranteed with live music, marshmallow roasting, kid’s activities, late-night boutique shopping – all part of the attraction of the festival’s opening night.
“The region’s growing artistic and cultural talent is coming to the fore through this year’s Fire Festival events – the program is brimming with new events and concepts” says Ned Sweetapple, General Manager of Orange360.
Music and performance will be a big feature of this year’s Fire Festival, covering various performances, venues and genre across the 10 days.
Canobolas Dance Hall will host two coveted musicians during the festival. Ash Grunwald, one of Australia’s most electrifying and entertaining live blues musicians and country singer, Colin Buchanan respected songwriter and collaborator are lining up to entertain amongst the ambiance and warmth of fire pits, delicious wood-fired pizza, local wine and other beverages.
