As one door closes another opens for Saffi owner Liz Mitchell. Saffi will be officially closing its doors by the end of February as Liz heads back to nursing. Liz said, “I’m just going back to where I started, but knowing more about where I want to go with it”. Liz is currently interested in going into community health and possibly women’s health, palliative care or oncology down the track.
When asking Liz about the transition from retail to nursing she said, “It’s amazing you use a lot of similar skills, it’s interesting how women are programmed to be critical of themselves, you use a lot of similar interpersonal skills.” Liz is looking forward to the next chapter and a regular pay she laughed. “I really have totally loved this, it has been quite therapeutic and was good to do while the
kids were little as I could be flexible for them,” she said.
Saffi will be available online until everything clears, however be sure to pop into the shop to grab a bargain and to farewell Liz as she embarks on a new journey. Check out Saffi’s Facebook page for more updates about sale items. Liz concludes with a big thanks to the
community for all of their support especially from two organisations. “I would really like to thank the Golf Ladies and The Historical Society have just been incredibly supportive with their fashion parades,” Liz said.
