Students rose out of their seats cheering, dancing and singing last Thursday as Iron and Clay performed at Canowindra High School, the energy in the hall was ecstatic! Iron and Clay are a motivational band who travel for 10 months of the year all across Australia, to not only entertain their audience but to inspire change and individuality, especially among the youth.
The performance to Canowindra High School students addressed issues such as anxiety, low self esteem, drug and alcohol abuse and drink driving in an informative but entertaining way. “Speaking to the students in this type of medium is more engaging for them and gives them the skills to make the right choices,” said Deputy Principal Darryl Ball.
Iron and Clay are a young group of performers who are motivated, full of energy and deliver a powerful message to their audience.
“Destiny is not a matter of chance, it’s a matter of choice,” said Iron and Clay performers. The interactive performance is presented for 30-60minutes, designed by young people, for young people. Iron and Clay demonstrate the importance of speaking to the youth of today in their own language and medium to get across the right message.
A big theme for this year was placed on anxiety and how to cope with the stresses of everyday life. Iron and Clay were really all about inspiring students to do better regardless of their background. “Your choices are powerful. You have the power to choose greatness and live life to the fullest,” said Iron and Clay performers. This is the third year the group have visited Canowindra High School delivering new inspirational content each year.
Canowindra High School have a lot of programs like this running throughout the year to better support the students and to give them the necessary skills to make the right decisions in life.
