More than just Fish Fossils

12 December, 2013 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Ages of Fishes

The Age of Fishes Museum is the perfect place to visit on the weekend or to take your visiting friends and relatives. The gift shop also provides a range of gifts, perfect for Christmas, which is just around the corner!

The gift shop is a kid’s paradise, stocking a range of activities, toy fossils, microscopes, books, stuffed native animals and even dinosaur eggs you can hatch yourself!

Also something for the adults, the Age of Fishes sell real fossils, local produce, locally made candles and beauty products.

“I really try to advocate the 100 mile concept, selling locally made products that really showcase the Central West.” Manager, Fiona Ferguson said.

If you’re looking for something to do when the family come, why not take them to the Age of Fishes to take in some rich local history. There is also a BBQ area with picnic benches, fossil dig sandpits and a giant game board for the kids.

For more information about the Age of Fishes Museum, please contact the centre on 6344 1008.
