Hello Readers, welcome to this month’s column and dare I say it “Happy Yuletide”. Christmas in July, another excuse to enjoy that special time of the year only it’s colder, so we can all enjoy a traditional hot meal in front of the fire.
Personally I love it, we will be having a series of lunches and dinners to celebrate. This week is booked out but I have a couple for Tuesday 25th July, let me know if you’re interested. The house looks fabulously festive! Great Christmas fare and good company, what else do you need? Ho, Ho, Ho! It has been a nice July with lots of visitors. Can’t explain my Port Macquarie visitors coming in the winter but they like Canowindra, and Hey! what’s not to like, it’s frosty.
Celebrated local lady Mavis Tobin’s 80th birthday with a beautiful dinner for her family on 8th July organised by daughter Marg. All who attended had a wonderful time celebrating this lovely lady’s milestone. Monday 10th July Allan brought 45 members of local Probus Club from Cowra over on a bus for a High Tea and an inspection of Montrose. They all loved their day and declared it a wonderful day out to experience all we have to offer.
On Saturday 15th July, John & Steph Watson and I hosted a Christmas in July fundraiser at The Royal for the local league club. Steph and I donated and cooked all the food, Terry Lovett did the music and a great time was had by all. There were sensational dress ups by a lot of the boys and girls.
We had a visit from John Barilaro the Deputy Premier on Monday 17th July with a meet and greet luncheon to address some situations which the government is trying to fix. Lots of money for the community, nice bloke too. Rick Colless is a great mate of
mine and is the Parliamentary Secretary who organised the lunch.
We have lots coming up in the next week with a Cootamundra group for Christmas lunch on 19th July and a smart Cocktail party 21st July to welcome new accountants CKC to Canowindra. Lovely people, Matty Wren is a great mate from years back and his associate Joe is a local farm boy so welcome to Canowindra!
Take Care, Tommy x
