Hello readers, welcome to the column. Very, very busy time in Canowindra the last couple of weeks and especially busy at Montrose House with lost of visitors staying and lots of dinner parties. Don’t forget our wonderful Melbourne Cup Luncheon at Montrose House on Tuesday 1st November from 11.30am, bubbles on arrival, sensational, scrumptious luncheon and fashion parade, and then the great race followed by a high tea. The ladies loved it last year so we promise to spoil you this year as well.
The long weekend was sensational for everyone with lots of visitors shopping and attending the auction for Charlie. We had a full house with dinners and lunches for our Melbourne and Sydney visitors, all the shops did really well and the visitors loved Canowindra but hey, what’s not to love. The quilts were a success, congratulations to Deb, Fiona and Robyn great job. The following week we hosted a hens night for Kate Frotheringham from Prime News, Orange with a princess themed party, followed by a show from Talulah with Shania Twain and Lulu. At the other end of the house in the South Hampton room Vicki Grant and family where enjoying a scrumptious dinner after winning this in the CWA raffle. The following Friday the Myer Baileau family from Melbourne celebrated their Dad’s 80th birthday, and Saturday the delightful Kilby and Chivers families brought a bus of friends and family for a celebration
dinner themed in black and white.
This week is my birthday with a small, intimate family dinner and a huge celebration party early in November. Lots coming up, Senator Fiona Nash with Scott Barret in town this week, Captain of the Australian Netball team with an award to Mandy Townsend, and a high tea for Orange Tourism operators. Check out the new window opposite the Deli Lama and also Melissa Barber’s pop-up exhibition next to Trading Post, it’s gorgeous.
Take Care, Tommy x
