Hello Readers, welcome to this month’s column and what a busy time at the ‘House’. We started the month with a lunch for the
Food Basket volunteers, organised by David Harrison. It was a lovely crowd enjoying a sumptuous lamb lunch followed by delicious
sweets, tea and coffee and chocolates. Carol Davenport and the Laverty Pathology girls were having High Tea in the Southampton
Room on the same day so we were very busy! On the 1st September Michelle Burns organised a great group of ladies for her sister
in law to be Anne. Great fun and games with a special guest appearance by Talulah. Great night had by all, lots of laughs!
Saturday 3rd September was a Christening lunch for twin boys Mason and Henry with lots of family in attendance. This was a sumptuous luncheon in blues and whites with everyone enjoying the babies special day. In the Southampton Room at the same time was the Cargo Garden Club with President Vicki and girls tucking in to a beautiful Australian menu for lunch followed by sponge cake and homemade cream puffs, a real treat for the beautifully dressed ladies in attendance.
On September 8th Elizabeth and Doug from Janelli Nursery celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary with a beautiful blue
and silver themed dinner with their family and then all staying the night in the three queen size B&B rooms at Montrose with a
beautiful hot breakfast at Deli Lama the next morning. A charming couple and really delightful family, best wishes Doug and Liz.
Lots happening in the next couple of weeks with Montrose House hosting a class reunion for all my old school pals from St Raphael’s
on 16th September as part of Back2Cowra and then a private family dinner on the 17th for the Ashwood family reunion from Bowral.
Girls don’t forget our special Melbourne Cup Luncheon on Tuesday 1st November with a scrumptious lunch, fashion parade,
great music and the race followed by high tea. It was a sell out last year so get in and see me at the Deli Lama for bookings.
Take Care, Tommy x
