Hello readers and welcome to this month’s column,
I just got back from three weeks in sunny Queensland – the first holiday for over 18 months. Even though I loved my holiday, it is just wonderful to be back home here at Montrose House. Big thank you to my dear mate Lou Grant for staying and keeping an eye on the house for me.
Back into work this week with a very elegant dinner on Tuesday night for my great friend of many years, Marlene Grant, who celebrated her 80th Birthday with a divinely elegant pastel themed dinner party for 20 family and friends in our beautiful Tuscany room. Just a wonderful evening of great friends and fabulous food, lots of laughter and stories. Happy Birthday to this special lady!
Thursday night will be another special birthday dinner for a local girl Scout Stacey. Another big dinner on Saturday will follow, with people coming from Sydney and all over the state to celebrate with my mate Allison. The theme will be navy and white, with tons of fresh white roses, navy sashes and silver trim.
Lots of visitors are staying with me at the moment and I have several buses next week from Wagga and Dubbo, who will have lunch here and then do some shopping in our beautiful shops.
It will not be long until Easter is here – one of my favourite times of the year. I am expecting a huge influx of visitors to our gorgeous town.
The Balloon Challenge is coming up soon and we are hoping it is a great success. There will be night shopping night, fashion parades, buskers, cocktail parties, a parade on Gaskill Street, cook offs and more! As patron, I am very excited for this wonderful event to come back to Canowindra and with the exposure that Better Homes and Gardens gave our little jewel of a town, I think we will be inundated!
