Hello readers and welcome to this month’s column,
Goodness me, we are nearly at the end of February and what a glorious summer we are having!
We only have one more shop to fill in the main street until we are full up. Chris from Perennialle Plants has done a wonderful job on Charlie McCarron’s place. It is a wonderful addition to our main street.
I have had a busy couple of weeks with a full house most weekends, weddings, 40th birthday, 80th birthday and lots of other celebrations happening. I was absolutely delighted to win Citizen of the Year on Australia Day. It was very humbling. I do not do what I do for awards but it is still nice to be appreciated for the effort I put into town to keep it positive and happy. I love what I do. Thanks everybody for your support. Remember to keep asking the council to keep our cemetery maintained.
I hosted a surprise birthday dinner for Gail Davis on Sunday after ballroom dancing. Racing season has finally started with Bedgerabong Picnic Race last Saturday with a bunch of gal pals. My good mate Sa-rah Refalo won best dressed local girl and I won best dressed gentleman. Together we won best dressed couple. We are off to Condobolin Picnic Races next week and Tullibigeal the following weekend.
I am heading off to Hamilton Island at end of month for a holiday with friends for nine days, then a week in Noosa. Looking forward to my first break in over a year! Big thanks to Lou Grant for house-sitting for me.
Lots of great plans in motion for the Balloon Challenge. As patron of this wonderful event, I am looking forward to doing lots of new exciting things. The market night on Thursday 29th April and our Saturday street parade and markets on the 1st should be awesome. Watch this space!
