Hello readers,
Welcome to this months column and into March already, the year is flying. I am back in Canowindra after an overseas wedding in Auckland, New Zealand, then onto Queenstown for a 21st. New Zealand is gorgeous!
I’ve also been away to Queensland and Canberra for functions but am back now for a couple of months until May when I go off to New York and Washington for a month.
There have been lots of parties and din- ners at Montrose this month. Sandra Gold- ing’s mum, Lorna’s 80th birthday, Betty Rush from Cowra’s 80th birthday and a 30th birthday luncheon for Lilly Smith organised by her husband Andy from Moxey Farms Goologong with a royal purple theme which was wonderful.
This weekend we have a house full of celebrities with the Duncan family reunion. Carmen and Paula were big Australian TV actors with Carmen being “Pat The Rat” on sons and daughters, so there are lots of Grants, Duncans etc. coming from all over Australia for a superb gourmet luncheon and catch up at Montrose. I am very proud to host them.
On Sunday I have a group of ladies from Eugowra and Goologong celebrating a multi birthday party with a ‘pretty in pink’ theme. It should be wonderful, with these girls led by the veracious Amanda. There will be good fun and lots of laughs to be had.
Monday 20th March will see the first of my Year 12 graduation class dinners for this wonderful bunch of young men and ladies. They will enjoy each others company while learning about good food, fine dining and setting an elegant table; all important life skills that will come in handy alongside their education for their very exciting futures.
I have a christening next week, another dear friends 60th birthday and it looks like a very small classy wedding coming up, smart and private.
There were lots of visitors last week for the 100 mile dinner and great fun for all my house guests. I hosted a black and white themed ‘Tuscany’ dinner on my front lawn for all my Sydney, Melbourne and Cowra visitors, which was amazing!
Take care and best wishes. Tommy x
