What matters most to our community? Every year, Council is required to make difficult decisions about how resources are allocated across a wide range of services, facilities and infrastructure. From roads, footpaths and bridges to libraries, pools, sporting facilities, tourism, childcare and community services, there are always competing priorities.
Ultimately, councillors are elected to make those decisions. However, it is important that those decisions are informed by the needs and expectations of the community.
That’s why we’re asking residents to complete the community survey. The survey isn’t about asking the community to make decisions on Council’s behalf. It’s about helping us understand where our community’s priorities lie. What services do you value most? What infrastructure is most important to you? Where should Council focus its efforts into the future? We can’t understand the priorities of our communities without asking the question.
The survey gives residents the opportunity to tell us what matters most to them, helping ensure future planning, budgeting and decision-making aligns with the needs and expectations of the people we serve.
Survey responses received to date have been strongest from residents living in the rural areas of the Cabonne LGA. To help build a complete picture of local priorities, we’re encouraging more residents from our towns and villages to have their say. Every part of Cabonne has its own unique needs and priorities, and it’s important that all voices are represented. We can’t accurately understand Cabonne’s priorities unless we hear from all parts of our LGA.
