We had a great display of bowls over the weekend of 12th and 13th November. In the handicap Consistency singles, Richard had an impressive win over Dool. The bowls on show during this game were amazing, you had to be there to appreciate them. Marker Ben joined in the fellowship during the match.
Westy was put to the test by Caine in a very close match. Westy had to bridge a big handicap with Caine, leading throughout most of the game. Final score 156 to 144.
In the O’Brien Cup match on Sunday Fitzy and Dool partnered up to play Barney and Toby. Toby and Barney with a good lead early were gradually pulled back late in the game. The handicap and great start by Toby and Barney proved too much, winning 28 to 20.
Brad and Sparky had a solid win over Margo and Phil Lees 26 to 15. Woodstock Bowls were postponed.
Saturday games for 17th November are Brad Bourke v. Nigel Knight, Marker Leanne West. The winner on Saturday will play Luke Salvtucci on Sunday, Marker Caine Rooke.
Thursday had a good attendance with 12 bowlers. The jackpot was not won, so it is now at $100. Friday night bowls haven’t had the best of weather to date, we are looking forward to dry and warmer conditions. Weekly draws are Friday $1,500, Wednesday $500 and Sunday $500.
