Men’s Bowls

Last Wednesday Terry Mooney played Larry Nunn in a Minor Singles match where Terry had a comfortable win 33-15.

Last Sunday a Major Singles match was played with Ian Nelder against Teddy Lawrence. After 13 ends Ian had a handy lead 19-6 then after 30 ends Teddy was able to narrow the gap to be 2 shots behind with the score being 23-25. Ian was able to score 6 shots in the next four ends to win the semi-final 31-23.

Two Minor Triples matches were also played. Crock Watt, Larry Nunn and Nick Delaney played Jack Webb, Mark Wright and Harry Webb. Nick’s team had a comfortable win 24-12. Terry Mooney, Ron Symons and Garry Fairley played Brad Bourke, Nigel Knight and Michael Traves. The scores were close throughout this game with Michael’s team winning by one shot 20-19.

Saturday July 25 – Major Singles Final – D Beath v I Nelder and Marker V Mirto. Minor Singles Final – T Mooney v D Watt and Marker L Nunn. Major Pairs Final – M Lawrence and A Robson v A Wyburn and P Lees.

Sunday July 26 – Minor Triples Final- D Watt, L Nunn and N Delaney v B Bourke, N Knight and M Traves.

Nominations are open for the Zone 4 Open, Seniors and Presidents Pairs as well as the Open, Seniors and Presidents Triples. Our club will host a section of the Presidents Triples. Nomination sheets showing dates and venues are on the notice board.

Memberships for 2020-2021 are now due. The portion of club membership for registered bowlers will be $40. The nomination fee for entry in a Club Championship event will be $5.

Wednesday badge draw will be $100, Friday badge draw will be $1,200 and Sunday badge draw will be $1,100. Bingo this Thursday at 11am.
