Men’s Bowls

Twenty bowlers competed in Social Mixed Mufti bowls last Friday night with the winners being Tony Tuimauga and Jenny Middleton and the runners up being Nigel Knight and Liz Thornberry.

Last Saturday the Mixed Pairs Final was played with Dool Beath and Joyce Middleton against Roger Traves and Betty Jenkins. Dool and Joyce combined well to take control early in the game and lead throughout winning the final 30-11.

A Major Triples match was also played with Paul Markcrow, Steve Kirkman and Cyril Webb against Westy Wyburn, Tony Tuimauga and Teddy Lawrence. After 15 ends Cyril’s team were leading 13-9 then Teddy’s team scored seven shots on the next end to lead 16-13 and then maintain the lead to win the match 21-13.

Friday November 8: Social Mixed Pairs Mufti Bowls sponsored by Men’s Bowls. First 14 teams accepted with names in by 6pm for 6.30pm start. $10 per team. One game of 15 ends.

Saturday November 9: Major Triples – V Mirto, T Mooney and A Robson v G Fairley, R Symons and I Nelder.

Sunday November 10: Minor Triples – G Fairley, R Symons and K Walker v N Dela- ney, D Watt and L Nunn.

Saturday November 16: Ron and Peggy Lynch Memorial Mixed Triples Day sponsored by Sue and Robert Lynch. $1,320 in prize money. Round robin tournament with all female/male or mixed teams. Play commences at 9.30am. Two semi-finals of four ends and one final of four ends. $90 per team includes Chinese lunch.

Wednesday badge draw will be $450, Friday badge draw will be $200 and Sunday badge draw will be $1,100. Don’t forget Bingo this Thursday at 11am.
