Men’s Bowls

Last Friday night ten teams of pairs competed in social mixed mufti bowls with the winners being Crock Watt and Joyce Middleton and the runners up being Penny Nash and Nigel Knight.

One match of mixed pairs was played last Saturday with Garry and Julie Fairley against Roger Traves and Betty Jenkins. The scores were close throughout this game with the scores level at 22 all after 20 ends. Roger and Betty were able to score four shots on the last end to win the match 26-22.

Last Sunday an O’Brien Cup match was played with Kevin Walker and Dool Beath against Vinnie Mirto and Brad Bourke. After 14 ends Kevin and Dool had a handy lead 22-15 but after this Vinnie and Brad won the next six ends to win the match 25-23. Also last Sunday Roger Westy and Crock ventured across to Cumnock for their Presidents Day and won the day.

Friday November 1: Social mixed pairs mufti bowls sponsored by Mens Bowls. First 14 teams accepted with names in by 6pm for 6.30pm start. $10 per team. One game of 15 ends.

Saturday November 2: Major triples – P Markcrow, C Webb, S Kirkman v M Lawrence, A Wyburn, T Tuimauga. Mixed pairs final – R Traves and B Jenkins v D Beath and J Middleton.

Sunday November 3: Major triples – V Mirto, T Mooney, A Robson v G Fairley, R Symons, I Nelder.

Saturday November 16: Ron and Peggy Lynch Memorial Mixed Triples Day sponsored by Sue and Robert Lynch. $1,320 in prize money. Winners and runners up prizes and 3x round prizes. Win and ends. 3 games of 10 ends. Round robin tournament with all female/male or mixed teams. Play commences 9.30am. 2 semi finals of 4 ends and 1 final of 4 ends. $90 per team includes Chinese lunch.

Wednesday badge draw will be $350, Friday badge draw will be $200, Sunday badge draw will be $1,050. Bingo 11am Thursday.
