MENS BOWLS
Last Saturday two O’Brien Cup matches were played. Steve Kirkman and Ian Nelder played Westy Wyburn and Tot Fisher. This was anyone’s game after 19 ends with the score being 28-26 in favour of Westy and Tot. Westy and Tot won the last two ends to win the game 33-26. In the other match Kevin Walker and Dool Beath played Larry Nunn and Cyril Webb.
This was also a close game with the score after 17 ends being 27-26 in favour of Dool and Kevin. Dool and Kevin won three of the last four ends, winning the match 32-27.
Last Sunday an O’Brien Cup match was played with Crock Watt and Barney Robson against Ron Symons and Garry Fairley. Ron and Garry lead throughout the game winning 32-24. Ron and Garry have been the giant killers of this competition and reaching the final.
Friday December 7: Twilight Barefoot Mixed Mufti Bowls with names in by 6pm for 6.30pm start. One game of 15 ends being Turn Around Triples.
Last Sunday Canowindra Bowling Club presented live music performed by Neil Gill a well-known Central West media and music personality. It was an enjoyable afternoon with a large crowd in attendance.
Special thanks to Eleena Markcrow for arranging the live music and also the kids club which included a visit from Santa. Also thanks to Tony and Paul for selling the raffle tickets. Sunday badge draw will be $1,800 drawn between 5pm and 6pm. Must be in the club to win. Raffles to be drawn at 5.30pm with tickets on sale from 4pm. This will be followed by the novelty event worth a jackpot in excess of $850. Friday badge draw will be $1,300. Bingo this Thursday 11am.
