Last Saturday a Consistency Singles match was played with Paul Markcrow against Pete McVicker. Unfortunately for Pete, he broke down during the second half of the game and had to retire awarding the game to Paul.
Last Sunday three O’Brien Cup matches were played. Bruce Webb and Steve Fisher played Westy Wyburn and Tot Fisher. Westy and Tot led throughout the game winning 34-21. Garry Fairley and Ron Symons played Tony Tuimauga and Paul Markcrow. After 11 ends the scores were close being 27-24 in favour of Garry and Ron. Garry and Ron kept their lead for the rest of the game winning 42-26. Barney Robson and Crock Watt had a comfortable win against Vinnie Mirto and Dave Sargent.
Friday November 9 – Be sure to be at the club by 5.30pm if you wish to participate in the novelty event worth a jackpot in excess of $650. This will be followed by twilight barefoot bowls being turn around mixed triples. Names in by 5.30pm for 6pm start. One game of 15 ends.
Saturday November 10 – Ron “Gunner” Lynch Memorial Mixed Triples Tournament. Proudly sponsored by Sue and Robert Lynch. $1,320 in prizemoney. Teams may be all females, all males or mixed. Play commences 9.30am. Three games of 10 ends. Winners and runners up will be determined by two semi-finals and a final. All finals will be over 4 ends. $90 per team includes Chinese lunch.
Last Sunday Canowindra Bowling Club presented live music performed by Matt Arthur. A large crowd was in attendance. Thanks to Eleena Markcrow for organising the event and to Pete the Painter for transporting the jumping castle from Parkes.
