Last Saturday a Consistency Singles match was played with Vinnie Mirto against Ian Nelder. Up to 19 ends the scores were close then on the next end Ian scored a ten to lead 122-103. After this Vinnie was able to bridge the gap and then lead, winning the game 153-142.
Last Sunday the Minor Pairs Final was played with Gary Fairley and Steve Kirkman against Paul Markcrow and Nick Delaney. This game was worthy of a final with the scores level at several times throughout the match. Gary and Steve were able to win the last three ends winning the final 17-13.
Two Consistency Singles matches were also played. Matthew Lawrence played David Beath with the scores close up to 19 ends with Matthew leading 104-101. After this Matthew was able to extend his lead to win the game 155-130. In the other match Brian McClintock played Nigel Knight. This was a very close game with Nigel winning the match 152-151.
Saturday September 15: Consistency Singles – T Tuimauga v A Wyburn and Marker M Lawrence. M Cramp v R Traves and Marker B McClintock. P Taylor v V Mirto and Marker I Nelder.
Sunday September 16: Major Triples – I Nelder, A Wyburn and M Lawrence v P Taylor, D Beath and R Traves. Nominations for the O’Brien Cup will close this Sunday September 16.
Sunday badge draw will be $1,200 to be drawn between 5.00pm and 6.00pm. Must be in the club to win. Raffles to be drawn at 5.30pm with tickets on sale from 4.00pm.
Friday badge draw will be $1,100. The jackpot raffle will be held on Sunday September 23 after the annual general meeting of the club.
