MEN’S BOWLS

Last Saturday a consistency singles match between Brent Lees and Glen Burrows was played with Glen leading narrowly for most of the game but Brent was able to score valuable shots over the last five ends to win the game 152-143.
Last Sunday the major singles final was played between Tony Tuimauga and Phil Lees. Tony held the lead up to the 24th end with the score 20-19 then Phil won the last five ends scoring 12 shots winning the final 31-20. A major triples match was also played with David “Crock” Watt, Larry Nunn and Ian “Duncan” Nelder against Peter Taylor, David “Dool” Beath and Roger Traves. Ian’s team were outclassed by Roger’s more experienced team winning 38-6.
Saturday August 11- Consistency singles- V Mirto v K Walker, Marker A Wyburn. T Mooney v N Delaney, Marker P Makin. S Kirkman v T Tuimauga, Marker I Nelder. Sunday August 12- Major triples- G Fairley, R Symons, P McVicker v S Kirkman, C and B Webb. Consistency singles- Z Lees v K Perry. Marker T.B.A.
Sunday badge draw will be $950 to be drawn between 5.00pm and 6.00pm. Must be in the club to win. Raffles will be drawn at 5.30pm with tickets on sale from 4.00pm. Friday badge draw will be $600.

Last Saturday Canowindra Bowling Club held a trivia night with funds of $600 raised to be donated to Clinical Trials for breast and prostate cancer at Orange Base Hospital. Diane would like to thank the following businesses who so generously contributed prizes for our raffle- Muzzy’s Meats, IGA Supermarket, Canowindra Newsagency, Gaskill Greens, Canowindra Pharmacy, Foodworks Supermarket, Canowindra Bottle Shop, Canowindra Trading Post, Leanne’s Flowers, The Golden Century Restaurant and the Bowling Club. There was also a very generous donation from the Canowindra Rugby League.
