Men’s Bowls

14 October, 2026 By Canowindra Phoenix Editor

Games are getting played which is good to see, we had a couple of consistency games on the weekend and early this week.

On Saturday Marc and Jamie S went head to head in a close game, the score 100/105 at one stage showing how close the game was. Marc slowly got a slight edge towards the later stages going on to win 151/124.

On Sunday Eryn and Corey took to the green to play their consistency game. With handicaps even it could have been anyone’s game. Corey started strong and took the match away from Eryn. Eryn fought on gamely, drawing some good shots later in the match, 150/105.

Corey backed up on Monday to play Lisa in all family event. Lisa had a 10 points avantage at the start of the game. It was a great game with neither player gaining an advantage and both players playing well.

The evening air slowed the green a little and Corey handled to conditions better going on to win 151/124.

We wish all the players in tournaments this weekend all the best.

On the local front, the final of the O’Brien Cup is set down for 3pm on Sunday afternoon.Three players are relatively new to competition bowls, which is good see the new players coming through.

Graham and Michael Traves play Lisa and Keith Jones in totally family against family match.Lisa and Keith will a slight handicap lead going into the match.we look forward to great game with all players in good form.

Nominations for mixed handicap pairs are on the board. A reminder to all intending players games will be played Wednesday evening starting at 6pm.If the game cannot be played on the Wednesday it must be played by the following Wednesday.

If the teams nominated surpass the number of rinks available the balance will played on Thursday or the weekend immediately after the Wednesday.

Thursday continues to have great afternoon of bowls with 14 players.
