What a great weekend of bowls for Canowindra teams in the Cowra breakout pairs.
Sixteen teams played at Canowindra Club on Saturday and the remaining 42 teams played in Cowra.
The greens were in excellent order and the visiting teams had favourable comments on our club and amenities. Thanks to all the staff for great service in presenting the club at its best and and looking after our visitors.

All teams played well against quality opposition with Roger and Phil being the highlight with two wins and a draw.
All teams were looking forward to the games on Sunday at Cowra, where three Canowindra bowls pairs once again performed well. Brent and Tot had a win, Crock and Corey had a close loss on the TV rink, with both playing a great game. Phil and Roger had a close match against Ben and Tony.Unfortunately Greg and Jamie S received a forfeit in their match. Roger and Phil lost their first playoff game but went on to win the next playoff game to finish 11th.
Canowindra is very appreciative of the Cowra Club invitation to co-host the event which attracted 58 teams, representing various clubs. Once again thanks to all the staff and catering personnel and volunteers for a successful weekend.
In the club bowls there is only one game on Sunday, an O’Brien Cup match with Dool and Peter playing Michael and Graham. We wish Greg and Jamie S all the best at the Ben Hall pairs at Forbes.
14 players took to the greens on Thursday and the jackpot continues to climb. On Saturday the greens are free for social bowls at 1pm. The date, 30 August is set down for our major jackpot draws at 7.30pm.
